Comments: Obverse features Ceres the goddess of agriculture and fertility.  Reverse features date and denomination encircled by a  wreath.  Also features a lettered edge.  This type was minted from 1849 - 1852.  A similar type was minted in 1870 and 1871.

Actually the similar type was issued in 1870 and 71. 1860 was still under Napoleon III (1852-70)
