Comments: Obverse features head of George VI.  Reverse features "The Mathew" The ship that John Cabot was on when he discovered Newfoundland.  Under the ship is the Latin inscription: FLOREAT TERRA NOVA, which translates to "May the new found land flourish".  This coin commemorates Newfoundland joining Canada to become the 10th province.
