Comments: This is a fairly high grade coin but the toning on it is just ugly. The obverse has splotchy rust colored toning and the reverse is speckled gray.

First, let me thank you for sharing your collection. It is a great collection of coins. As to the toning on this coin, it makes me wonder why the taboo against cleaning coins. I have a few coins that would be greatly improved (visually) if some of the "rust" could be removed. I have also purchased a couple of really nice coins at ridiculous prices that were reduced because the coin had been cleaned. Fine jewelry is cleaned and polished, why not coins. Well, maybe not polished, but a non-etching chemical cleansing should be allowed.
