Yes the "Ike" was minted 1971 to 1978. I think the non-centennial Ike reverses are among the most striking ever minted.

It is 40% silver total. It's 80silver/20 copper over a 20silver/80copper base for a total silver weight of 40% and I must agree with ripley the Ike dollars are the most striking...strikingly ugly. I work in a bank and every time I get one I can't wait to get rid of it. (except I did find two silver ones over the years which of course I kept)
