Comments: Obverse features King George VI facing left Reverse features silver fern flanked by stars. Subject of the coin is the proposed royal visit. Apparently George fell ill and never visited New Zealand but the coins has already been struck by the royal mint so 190,000 were sent to New Zealand, 4000 to the UK, 1000 to Canada and 5000 to USA.
